Two ways to book an acne facial at Vearitea

An acne facial at Vearitea is not a single fixed menu item. It is one of two existing sessions, shaped around blemish-prone skin. The first is the Express Hydrating Facial, $125 for 30 minutes, which we use as a focused deep cleanse. The second is the 60-minute LED facial, $250, which adds blue LED light at 415 nm on top of a fuller cleanse. Both are cosmetic sessions, and both are adjusted to what your skin shows us on the day.

Which one fits depends on time, budget and what you are hoping to see. If your skin feels congested and you want a thorough, calm cleanse before a weekend, the express session is a sensible first step. If breakouts are a recurring pattern and you want light-based care as part of the plan, the 60-minute session is the usual choice. You can read how we describe the service on our acne facial page.

The 30-minute express cleanse, step by step

The express session is built for people who want their skin properly cleaned without a long appointment. After a short conversation about your skin and any products you use, we begin with a double cleanse to lift sunscreen, makeup and surface oil. A gentle exfoliation follows, chosen for skin that is already a little reactive. We avoid aggressive scrubs on blemish-prone skin.

From there we move to a hydrating finish. Breakout-prone skin is often over-dried by strong home products, and many clients notice that a calmer, better-hydrated surface simply looks less irritated. The session ends with a light moisturizer and a sun protection step, and you can go straight back to your day.

What the express session does not include is light therapy or cooling. It is a cleanse, not a device session. For some skin, that is enough. For others it works as a starting point before the longer facial.

The 60-minute session with blue LED at 415 nm

The 60-minute session begins the same way, with a double cleanse and a gentle exfoliation, but it is paced more slowly and it adds LED light. We use the Sapphire X blue LED, which emits light at 415 nm, and the Perfectio X, which emits red and infrared light. Both are FDA-cleared Class II devices. That clearance covers the device itself, not any particular result on your skin.

Blue light in the 415 nm range is widely chosen for skin prone to breakouts. In a session, the panel sits a short distance from the face for a set number of minutes while you wear eye protection. There is no heat to speak of and no sensation beyond a faint warmth for some clients. We may follow with a few minutes of red and infrared light, which many clients find leaves the skin looking calmer and more even for a day or two.

We want to be plain about what light can and cannot do. A single LED session may temporarily reduce the look of redness around active blemishes. It is a cosmetic step, not a treatment for the causes of acne, and it is not a replacement for a routine a dermatologist has built for you. Results vary, and the people who are happiest with LED tend to be the ones who see it as one gentle part of a longer plan. More on how the colors differ is on our LED light therapy page.

Optional cooling, and an honest word on extractions

If the skin looks flushed or puffy at the end of the session, we may add a brief cooling pass. The applicator is chilled to −6 °C, and it moves over the face in short, controlled strokes. The applicator is cold. Your skin is not brought to that temperature. The cooling may temporarily reduce the look of redness, and it is pleasant on warm skin after exfoliation. It is optional, and we skip it if your skin is not a good match for cold.

Extractions are the part of an acne facial people ask about most, so here is where we stand. We do not promise extractions. If a few surface blackheads are ready and your skin is calm, a trained skincare specialist may clear them gently. We will not press on inflamed, deep or cystic spots, because doing so tends to leave skin looking worse, not better. If you arrive hoping for a full extraction session, we would rather tell you that before you book than disappoint you on the table.

Who it suits, and who should see a dermatologist first

A gentle acne facial suits mild, occasional breakouts, clogged pores along the nose and chin, an oily T-zone, and the lingering redness that stays after a blemish has settled. It also suits people who simply want a consistent, calm cleanse every few weeks.

It is not the right first step for cystic acne, for breakouts that have persisted for months despite careful home care, for acne that is leaving marks or scarring, or for breakouts that appeared suddenly in adulthood. Those patterns deserve a dermatologist or physician first. They can prescribe what a spa cannot, and they can tell you whether a cosmetic facial fits alongside that plan. If you are using a prescription retinoid or an oral acne medication, ask your prescriber before booking any exfoliating session.

Our facials are cosmetic services, not medical care. Please talk to your physician before booking if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, have cold urticaria, have an active skin infection, or have had recent surgery.

Aftercare for the first 48 hours

Freshly cleansed and exfoliated skin is a little more open than usual, so the two days after a session are about doing less. Use a mild cleanser and skip scrubs, acids and retinoids for about 48 hours unless a physician has told you otherwise. Keep moisturizer simple. Wear sunscreen, because exfoliated skin burns more easily, and a Texas afternoon is bright even in October.

Try not to touch your face, and do not pick at anything that surfaces. A clean pillowcase and a clean phone screen make a surprising difference. If you want to wear makeup the same evening, choose something light and remove it gently. A little pinkness for an hour or two is normal after the exfoliation or cooling. If anything looks angry or feels hot the next day, which is uncommon, call us and check with a physician.

How often to come, and what it costs over time

For blemish-prone skin, a typical starting point is a series of four to six 60-minute sessions, spaced one to two weeks apart, then a maintenance visit every three to five weeks. Many clients notice their skin looking calmer around the third or fourth session, though results vary and some people see less. The express cleanse can sit between longer sessions if your skin gets congested quickly.

If you expect to come back, a facial package lowers the per-session cost a little and adds a daily product to use at home. Silver is three LED facials plus two products for $800, which works out to about $267 per facial. Bronze and Gold are also available, and the full list is on our packages page. Affirm financing is available at checkout. Please give us 24 hours notice if you need to cancel, and arrive on time, since arriving more than ten minutes late may mean rescheduling. Parking at Hulen Mall in Fort Worth is free.

Questions about this guide

Does an acne facial hurt?

Most clients describe it as relaxing. The exfoliation is gentle, LED light has no noticeable sensation for most people, and the optional cooling pass is brief. If we do clear a few surface blackheads, you may feel mild pressure. Tell us if anything stings and we will adjust.

Can I wear makeup after an acne facial?

You can, though we suggest waiting a few hours and keeping it light that first evening. Freshly exfoliated skin is a little more open than usual, so remove it gently before bed and go easy on anything heavy for a day or two.

Will one acne facial clear my skin?

No single facial clears acne, and we would not tell you otherwise. One session may temporarily reduce the look of redness and leave skin feeling cleaner. A series is a typical starting point, results vary, and persistent or cystic acne is a question for a dermatologist first.

Treatments at Vearitea Wellness Spa are cosmetic and wellness services, not medical care, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Results vary from person to person. If you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, cold urticaria, an active skin infection, or have had recent surgery, talk to your physician before booking.
